Tuesday was our first day back at “school” (we generally start our learning time on a Tuesday because Mondays are our standing family days as Mama and Baba usually have work on weekends).
I could’ve done with another week or even month off, but I had actually missed our beloved reading time on the couch ❤️.
We had a late start because everyone kinda woke up late, but no-one was complaining about that so it’s ok 🙂 I must say, I had quite a bit of prep to do…..being the teacher, mom and principal haha!
The 2 older ones are quite excited about learning how to read this year (we’d already started with Kumi last year, but Hubo is also keen), and as you can see, someone else was not too excited about this “back to school” business…haha! (To be fair, he was just not keen to take the photo but when it was time to play and learn about animals and colours, he was in there!…although disruptive at reading time as always, I was hoping something would have changed in 2018 lol!)
Aaanyway……..We had quite a special day, particularly because our dearest Kumi is officially done with all pre-primary stuff, and has now started “big school”, if she was in mainstream schooling, she’d be officially starting Grade 1.
So we spent the day celebrating the beginning of a new educational chapter and (mainly) her achievements so far.
She’s pictured with certificates from the Maths and the Reading programs she was doing last year….and we just had to create a certificate for the brother to avoid any potential tears…haha!
“Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him.Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth.Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their opponents in court.” Psalm 127:3-5
